about

Mitul Kajaria is an international award-winning photographer, curator, educator, and archivist. With a background in architecture and over fourteen years of arts practice, Mitul’s work orbits vital themes: mental health, diverse archives, and the interplay between built environments and human experience.

Mitul is the founder of ‘Aaste – Mental Health & Wellbeing’, where they offer psychotherapy and facilitate psychodrama workshops rooted in humanistic and person-centred approaches. Their work in psychology and psychodrama is a natural extension of their arts practice, bringing a deep attentiveness to the dynamics of witnessing, agency, and representation—whether in the therapy room, the field, or the archive.

Their documentary work engages with questions of social and ecological justice, while their curatorial and archival efforts create spaces for dialogue, reflection, and resistance—particularly around underrepresented narratives. As an educator and workshop facilitator, they work with groups to explore embodied storytelling, ethical engagement, and practices of care. Across disciplines, their work is grounded in long-term relationships, collaborative meaning-making, and a commitment to slow, attentive processes.
